Cheering and Valentines

I had a cheerleading competition last Saturday.  It goes from "tiny girls" to "open 6", which is level six cheerleading, and special needs.  There was also an individual performance, which was apparently very cool.  The afternoon of the competition, I felt nervous before performing.  I was more nervous this time because I was worried I might mess up.  Then, I had to warm up, stretch, etc....and finally, perform!!!  It was the same routine we've been practicing.  As usual, I did my back handspring and everybody went crazy!  It was so much fun!

In other news, I'm excited to hear that the "male bully" from Facebook moved away.  I'm looking forward to Valentine's day, which is coming up soon.  I love exchanging gifts with friends.  It's so nice to celebrate love and loving all the people you know.  People should know that autistic people like holidays that are social, like Valentine's day.  It's sometimes hard to express feelings to other people, but I think everybody goes through that.  Just because someone has autism doesn't mean that they don't enjoy social holidays, especially holidays about love!  I'd like getting chocolate, candy, and flowers as much as any other girl.  (hint, hint!!) :)

I know that just from reading these things, people won't necessarily run out and buy my fashions, but hopefully it is a start.  I think I am the only Autistic fashion designer out there.  I think it is important for people to get to know me, understand more about Autism, and enjoy my awesome fashions!

Happy New Year

This is my first blog of the new year!  My hopes for this year are to get my braces off, get my driver’s permit, and to have an awesome 15^th birthday.  In Brazil, the 15^th birthday party is a big deal because girls are introduced to society as women!  I want to wear a long pink, purple, or teal “prom” dress, maybe down to my ankles!  I also want to wear makeup and high heels.  Families that live in Brazil, friends that live in Brazil, and most of all, my family that lives here will be invited.  There will be music and dancing, mostly samba.  My mom taught me how to samba. 

For school, in the new year, I hope to get good scores on my state tests so I can be in honors classes in high school.  I also want to try out for the dance team at my high school.  I’m excited for high school so I can maybe get some of the same classes as old friends of mine.   I am a little nervous to start high school…what if I have mean people in my classes that treat me badly?  Will my teachers care and help me?  Or, because it’s high school, maybe they won’t care.  This is something I’m nervous about.  Also, what if I don’t know where my classrooms are?  The high school is so big with many different buildings.  I don’t know how I’m supposed to find everything. 

I hope, this year, to get a real working website for my business.  I want to design more clothes and actually sell some on my website.  I'm excited to finally have my blog up for everyone to see...I hope you enjoy reading it.
