One Direction and the FCAT

If you don't know who One Direction is, they are a British-Irish boy band that performed on the X Factor.  Everyone at school is pretty crazy about them.  I was laughing at my friend because she's a little older and she got them confused with One Republic....definitely not cool.  My favorite boy from the band is Harry Styles, the poodle head.  He doesn't really look like a poodle...I like his hair, though.  They were on an episode of iCarly where they talked about a "butter sock".  I get hysterical just thinking about it.  I really like the way they talk in their cute accents.  Everyone in my history class has been talking about the "butter sock".  Anyway, after I heard their song, "What Makes You Beautiful", I got really interested in them back in 2011.  I just found out they are coming here in concert next year!!!  I may or may not go, but I really would like to go.  Here is a picture of them...you'll see that even their hair goes in one direction!

And, here is the "butter sock" video for you to see and laugh at:

So this week, I have taken and am taking a state test called the FCAT...which, to me, stands for "Florida Child Abuse Test".  It's really the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test...but it's like torture to me!  I could also call it the "Florida Children Are Tortured" test...that would work, too.  Next year, I will have to take Algebra One end of course test (EOC).  I guess I'm looking forward to that.  I guess state tests must be very hard for certain people.  It's challenging for me, but not as challenging as when I was in 6th and 7th grade.  I have always been proficient in math, and not reading.  This year, I am hoping to change that.  There's going to be a test for 48 states called the PARCC coming in the next couple of years.  It will replace the FCAT and other state tests.  I think it's very interesting.  For example, I have a friend in New York and I'm in Illinois, we'd take the same test and would be learning the same things.  I think it's a good idea for everyone to learn the same things.
